Lancaster Bomber Photo Shoot ~ East Kirkby Airfield 26/4/08
A massive thank you to Francis and  Steve (Cashy) for arranging this unique
photo shoot at the Lincs Air Museum, East Kirkby. The mighty Lancaster
Bomber was already out on the tarmac when we arrived and we had un-
interupted (well nearly) access to her from 11am to 3pm - here's the pics ...

At the end of the session, all 19 Capris lined up in mass fighter formation ! JJohn Gwynne's white 2.8i

Chris's 2.8i screeches in to block the Lancaster Pete's white Laser looked stunning in front of the dark bomber
There were 7 of us from the Mansfield branch met up at Newark and as if

by magic, arrived at East Kirkby EXACTLY the same time as most of the
other 19 Capris ! The weather was perfect - in fact i was burnt to a crisp by
the time we had finished!  Individual shots in front of the bomber followed by
group shots ... then all 19 Capris together. Dramatic shots from ground level
and also from a gantry made this one unique opportunity to photograph a
legend of the road with a legend of the sky !             Alan

This year's show theme was 'STAR WARS' ... not an
easy theme for a car club but here are the photos of
what we came up with ... John's 2.8i was centre of the
display and represented an X-Wing fighter complete
with graphics and pilot at the wheel plus R2-D2 on
the roof ! The Capri was surrounded by a STAR
WARS desert scene complete with many models
and characters from the film.
